Intervention Services

A Thoughtful Way to Help Someone Choose Recovery

When conversations, promises, and previous attempts have not led to change, a professionally guided intervention can help. We prepare the family privately, help everyone speak with clarity and care, and have an appropriate treatment plan ready.

Purposeful, Not Confrontational

Preparation changes the conversation.

An intervention is more than a meeting. We first learn what has been happening, what has already been tried, who is involved, what concerns require immediate attention, and which treatment options may be realistic.

We then help spouses, parents, adult children, close friends, employers, or other trusted participants prepare what to say and how to respond. The goal is not to shame or overpower anyone. It is to make help easier to accept and the next step ready to take.

When Intervention May Help

The family is no longer comfortable waiting.

Help is repeatedly refused

Concern is growing, yet conversations end in denial, avoidance, anger, or promises that do not lead to meaningful change.

Consequences are escalating

A substance use disorder, behavioral health concern, or mental health concern is affecting health, safety, relationships, work, finances, or legal stability.

The family needs a united plan

Different opinions, fear, or repeated rescue attempts have made it difficult to communicate clearly and act together.

Our Process

From first call to continuing support.

  1. 01

    Understand the situation

We learn the history, identify immediate concerns, consider who should participate, and determine whether an intervention is the right approach.

  2. 02

    Prepare the family

Participants receive clear guidance about what to say, which limits need to be set, how the meeting will work, and how to respond to likely reactions.

  3. 03

    Prepare treatment options

Suitable options are reviewed in advance so the family can offer a practical path and move promptly if help is accepted.

  4. 04

    Help with what comes next

Our intervention service includes 30 days of intensive case-management support—hands-on help coordinating the individual, family, treatment providers, and important next steps.

When Florida law may be relevant: We can help families understand whether consulting a lawyer about the Marchman Act should be part of the plan. The Marchman Act is a Florida law that may allow a court to order an assessment or treatment in certain circumstances. Silver Lining does not provide legal advice as part of an intervention engagement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions families often ask.

How do I know whether an intervention is necessary?

An intervention may be appropriate when the concern is serious, voluntary conversations have not led to change, and the family needs a structured plan. The first consultation helps determine what kind of support makes sense; not every situation calls for a formal intervention.

Who should participate?

The right group is based on influence, stability, relationships, and safety—not simply the number of people available. Spouses, parents, adult children, close friends, employers, or other trusted people may be included and prepared carefully.

What if the person refuses help?

No ethical professional can guarantee acceptance. Preparation still gives the family a coordinated response, clearer limits, and a plan for what happens next.

How long does an intervention take?

The meeting itself is only one part of the process. Timing depends on the family’s preparation, the treatment plan, travel, urgency, and the complexity of the circumstances.

Does insurance cover an intervention?

Professional intervention services are often paid for privately. Insurance coverage for treatment is separate and depends on the individual policy and provider. We can help families understand which questions to ask.
